About Jubilee Celebrations
Join us for a celebration of the Queen with tea & cake and conversation with friends whilst enjoying the sound of The Polka Dot Dolls taking us back to the 1940's. Followed by The Queen (12A) starring Dame Helen Mirren and Michael Sheen
The Polka Dot Dolls, a 1940’s inspired vocal trio, are guaranteed to get toes tapping and transport audiences to a bygone era.
They are regular guest artists with The Glenn Miller Orchestra UK where they have performed in theaters across the UK. Their vocal talents have also taken them overseas to venues in Spain, Italy, France and Belgium; prestigious locations, such as 10 Downing Street and the main stage at the renowned vintage music and dance festival, Twinwood Festival. Not to mention an appearance on the BBC 1 family favourite: 'Further Back In Time For Dinner.'
The Queen (12A)
Diana, the "People's Princess" has died in a car accident in Paris. The Queen (Dame Helen Mirren) and her family decide that for the best, they should remain hidden behind the closed doors of Balmoral Castle. The heartbroken public do not understand and request that the Queen comforts her people. This also puts pressure on newly elected Tony Blair (Michael Sheen), who constantly tries to convince the monarchy to address the public.
