The Old Town Hall is Dacorum Borough Council’s small-scale professional theatre based in Hemel Hempstead. The venue runs an extensive programme of drama, music, comedy and film as well as arts based participatory workshops throughout the year.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our small and busy team as a Venue and Operations Assistant.

The successful candidate will assist the Venue and Operations Lead Officer is the day to day running of the Old Town Hall, providing a welcoming and safe environment for all our visitors.

Specific duties include, but are not restricted to:

  • Assisting the Venue and Operations Lead Officer and Arts Team Leader, ensuring each performance/event is adequately resourced – this would include sufficient trained staff, consumable stock and all agreements and contracts being in place.
  • Supporting the Venue and Operations Lead Officer in ensuring that all files and records relating to the Old Town Hall are up to date, including risk assessments, training schedules and maintenance contracts.
  • On occasion to provide Front of House Supervisory management for evening or weekend shows to meet the needs of the service.
