Stef Morales

A BA (Hons) Fine Art Graduate from the University of Northampton, Stef is currently a primary school teacher who revels in being creative with the children, encouraging their creative expression from a young age.

Stef paints in her little home studio, and has had a passion for creating art from a very young age.

Originally from Colombia, Stef moved to the UK at the age of 5, and can still remember not being able to communicate with other children. Stef often felt like art was the only subject she could strive in at school, since it gave her the ability to communicate through creativity. Art quickly became a safety blanket for Stef growing up, and even now in her adult life she uses it to express her feelings, emotions and thoughts.

Stef's biggest inspiration is Frida Kahlo, adoring how her paintings tell stories about her life and the extreme struggles she was going through.

The artwork shown in this exhibition is a mixture of different pieces and themes Stef has created recently and throughout the years. You will note the expressive and playful use of bright colours and brushstrokes in Stef's paintings.
